Green Wednesdays - Plastics Free Farmers market

Click To Play the video about the Plastic Ban Campaign
Plastic bags will soon be a thing of the past at the Fairfax Farmers Market. Sustainable Fairfax and a local organization called the Inconvenient Group join forces with Wednesday's Fairfax Farmers' Markets as they hand out free reusable cloth bags to shoppers in an effort to create a plastics free market and town.

At future market nights, volunteers will provide a demonstration on ways people can reduce the number of plastic bags they use.

Paints are available at the market so children can decorate the bags.

NO MIGRA - CANAL WATCH

On March 9, 2007 at 5 am over 75 people gathered in the Canal Neighborhood of San Rafael to stand witness over the Homeland Securitys I.C.E. terrorist activities. For over a week Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents have been pulling people out of their homes, cars and workplaces in the name of their mean spirited Return to Sender campaign. A seven year old child, an American citizen, was handcuffed and arrested and eventually separated from his parents. The Canal Watch vigils will continue on weekdays until I.C.E. stops their terrorist activities. On March 12 at 6 pm there will be a community meeting at the Canal Pickleweed Center, 50 Canal St. San Rafael.

Go to http://canalalliance.org  ,  http://canalwelcomecenter.org  ,  http://mpjc.org or  http://the-canal.blogspot.com/  for more information and important updates.

I Ain’t Killin' Anymore

I changed the words a little. Those who know will recognize the song by Phil Ochs, "I ain't marchin anymore." Changed "marchin" to "killin" and a couple of other lyrics in the later verses to bring it into modern times yet still keeping the 1960's spirit.

Stop the WAR - MARCH San Francisco Jan.27, 2007

Rally and March to End the War in Iraq
THE BIG ONE
Powell and Market Streets to Pier 31 on the Embarcadero

San Francisco
Over 3,000 dead American soldiers, hundreds of thousands of dead Iraqis. It's time to put a stop to the war machine. Millions of people voted to get the Republicans out and end the war, but we can't leave it up to the Democrats to do the only reasonable thing: BRING ALL THE TROOPS HOME NOW FROM IRAQ!
President Bush just announced his intent to escalate the number of troops in Iraq by over 20,000 more troops.
It's time to get the anti-war movement back in the streets! On January 27, hundreds of thousands of people marched in Washington, DC to demand an end to the war. Tens of thousands marched in San Francisco.
Thousands joined to show Bush and the new Democratic Congress that the anti-war movement is back and bigger than ever.
